As worshipers, our goal is to serve an audience of One. The only One. He who Was, and Is and Is to Come. Jehovah God. We should be striving to get ourselves out of the way, and worship the Lord the way He wants to be worshiped. Worship Him with clean hands and a pure heart. Worship Him in spirit and in truth. Not me, but only Thee Lord.
I want to worship the Lord Most High, as He wants to be worshiped. Each time I worship alone at home or in my car, or preparing for a worship service, I pray, “Lord, get me out of the way and show me how you want to be worship. Lord let me hear the sound of heaven so that my worship here on earth can match the way You want to be worshiped today at this moment. I want to worship you right now just like you are being worshiped in heaven. ”
Next, I ask the Holy Spirit to get me out of the way, and then I listen. How often are we impatient and so full of words that we don’t fully pause, be still and listen so that we may know the Lord’s will? I listen with my spirit. I listen with my spiritual ears. There are times the Holy Spirit directs my worship with an immediate speaking to my spirit a song, hymn or spiritual song. There are times I can spiritually hear, there are times I can audibly hear. “Let me hear Your voice Lord, so that I know what type of worship to offer You.” His sheep know His voice.
As you prepare to join in with heaven’s worship team, I caution you to make sure the songs you are singing are God centered and not “you” centered. Is there a time and a place for healing worship? Absolutely. Is there a time for warfare worship? Positively. Is there a time for praise? Totally. But worship, is worship and it is God centered. Is there a time for “I” songs? Wait, what? What’s an “I song”?
An “I song” is a song that is focused on you and not the Lord. An “I song” ministers to you, not to the Lord. An “I song” can be heaven-breathed and Holy Spirit led. These are songs that minister to you, not the Lord. It’s His ministry to you. Be cautious that any “I” song is based upon scripture. Scripture is your road map in making sure that what you are singing is rooted in truth. Does worship sometimes move into ministry, warfare, healing worship? 10,000% yes. But first, He receives the glory and honor He is worthy of. There is no one above Him – He is given the honor He is due – first!
Worship is directed towards the face of the Lord in the throne room. The veil was rent and we are moving in the Holy of Holies. All honor, all glory, all praise go to the One True Lord. Obey His word, follow Him, clean up your heart, clean up your actions, and offer Him the glory, honor and praise He is due. He is the Most High. He is the only one worthy of our worship! Prepare yourself to join heaven’s worship team, you’ll be on the team for eternity! Get ready, He’s welcoming new members to heaven’s worship team right now!
“Hallelujah to the Most High! Jesus You are such a miraculous wonder working God. Mighty are Your deeds. Worthy is Your name. All honor and glory belongs unto you. Worthy, worthy, worthy is Lamb! ” ~ Kristy
